About the Role

We are looking for an experienced youth fellow to join our field team. You will play a vital role in creating awareness of our solution, training and facilitating our clients. Additionally, this position is focused on providing robust support in monitoring and evaluating the impact of MoneyPhone’s agricultural loan products. You will contribute to data collection, learning, and reporting processes, while also supporting the implementation of project activities in the field. You will ensure insights from farmers and partners directly inform product refinement and strategic decision-making. Since we have a digital loan solution, you will process loan applications submitted through digital channels, such as online portals and mobile apps. You will work closely with digital loan officers, credit management and product development to optimize the digital loan process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Make sure our solution is effectively utilized through trainings and assistance

  • Facilitate loan application, monitoring, and collecting processes

  • Design and implement M&E tools to track loan utilization, farmer satisfaction, and project impact

  • Conduct enhance feedback collection and conduct regular inspections, regular field surveys, interviews, and focus group discussions with beneficiaries

  • Work on continuous improvement of our digital loan solution; participate in product testing, pilot programs and market research.

  • Equip borrowers with essential digital skills and competencies required to navigate digital tools, platforms, and technologies relevant to the loan application process.

  • Collaborate with the product and IT teams to test new features and improve usability

  • Track KPIs such as youth employment creation, income changes, and default rates

  • Support the organization and analysis of project baseline, midline, and endline studies

  • Prepare timely and insightful reports for internal and external stakeholders

  • Provide logistical and coordination support to workshops, pilot programs, and partner visits

  • Contribute to project documentation, success stories, and case studies

  • Promote financial and digital literacy within farmer communities

  • Maintain strong relationships with cooperatives, partners, and local authorities

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Monitoring & Evaluation, Agribusiness, Rural Development, or a related field

  • 2–5 years of field experience in agricultural finance, development projects, or M&E roles

  • Strong skills in data collection, analysis, and report writing

  • Proficient in using digital data collection tools (e.g., KoboToolbox, ODK, etc.)

  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills

  • Strong communication skills in Kinyarwanda and English

  • Field experiences working with cooperatives, farmer groups, or NGOs is highly valued

  • Willingness to travel and work in rural areas extensively

  • Age range: 20-30 years old

  • Proficient in using online portals and mobile apps

  • Hands-on experience in solving incidents and improving processes will be valued

  • Experience of working in a fast-paced Fintech company will be valued

  • Experience in international collaboration (differences in cultures and context) will be valued

  • Experience in training financial literacy and/or digital literacy will be valued

  • An understanding of banking and bank products will be valued
