Job Summary

The Managing Director (MD) of The Health Hub Ltd is responsible for providing strategic leadership and overseeing the overall operations of the company, including its fitness center, wellness services, and hospitality-related offerings (such as serviced apartments and lodges). The MD will drive business growth, ensure exceptional client experience, and position The Health Hub Ltd as the leading wellness and lifestyle brand in Rwanda and the region

Key Responsibilities

  1. Strategic Leadership & Growth
  • Define and execute the company’s vision, mission, and long-term strategy
  • Expand The Health Hub Ltd.’s presence in the fitness, wellness, and hospitality sectors
  •  Identify investment opportunities, partnerships, and new business lines
  • Position the company as a market leader in Rwanda’s wellness and lifestyle industry

2. Operations Management

  • Oversee daily operations of:

o  Fitness center (gym services, memberships, personal training),

o  Wellness services (health programs, recovery, lifestyle coaching)

o  Hospitality units (serviced apartments, lodges, guest services)

  • Ensure consistent delivery of high-quality services across all business units
  • Develop and implement operational policies and standard procedures

3. Financial Oversight

  • Develop and manage annual budgets and financial plans
  • Ensure profitability and sustainable cost management
  • Monitor revenue streams, including memberships, corporate packages, and accommodation services
  • Provide regular financial reports to shareholders/owners

4. Business Development & Partnerships

  • Drive corporate partnerships (e.g., companies, institutions, embassies, NGOs)
  • Develop membership growth strategies and wellness programs
  • Identify new markets and expansion opportunities within Rwanda
  • Lead negotiations and secure strategic business deals

5. Brand & Customer Experience

  • Maintain and strengthen The Health Hub Ltd brand as a trustworthy service provider
  • Ensure excellent customer experience and client retention
  • Handle VIP clients, corporate accounts, and high-level relationships
  • Implement feedback systems to continuously improve services

6. Leadership & Team Management

  • Build and lead a high-performing management team
  • Supervise department heads as the team grows (gym manager, hospitality manager, finance, HR, sales)
  • Establish performance targets and KPIs for all teams
  • Create and promote a culture of professionalism, health, and customer care

7. Compliance & Risk Management

  • Ensure compliance with Rwanda’s business, health, and safety regulations
  • Oversee licensing and operational requirements for fitness and hospitality services 
  • Identify risks and implement mitigation strategies
  • Ensure ethical and transparent business practices

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related field (MBA or PMP is an added advantage)
  • Minimum 5 years of senior leadership experience in:

o Fitness or wellness industry

o Hospitality or property management

  • Proven experience managing multi-business operations
  • Strong understanding of the Rwandan market (or East African region)
