Role Summary
The Sales & Customer Service Intern serves as the primary point of contact for ILBA Hair's clients and retail customers. This role combines customer service excellence with sales support to drive business growth in the natural hair care industry. The ideal candidate is passionate about natural hair care, eager to learn and grow, and committed to delivering outstanding service. This position requires a people-oriented, proactive individual who ensures timely, professional, and empathetic communication while managing client relations, sales recording, online sales support, and inventory awareness.
Key Responsibilities
Respond promptly and professionally to client inquiries via phone calls, WhatsApp, social media, and other communication channels
Build and protect ILBA's reputation by providing outstanding customer service with a strong client focus
Record all sales transactions accurately and maintain organized client and sales records
Monitor sales reports and provide actionable feedback to the marketing team for improving sales strategies
Serve as primary online sales support, responding to leads from marketing campaigns and converting them into sales
Listen attentively to client feedback and complaints to help tailor services and product offerings
Coordinate with inventory management to track stock levels and proactively alert the team to avoid shortages
Conduct weekly opening and closing stock checks to ensure inventory accuracy
Schedule and confirm salon appointments and product orders with precision
Implement post-service and post-purchase follow-up protocols to ensure client satisfaction
Facilitate communication between clients and salon staff regarding special requests or concerns
Assist with coordinating delivery or pick-up of product orders as needed
Uphold ILBA's values of professionalism, respect, and Christian principles in all interactions
Required Skills & Qualifications
Genuine passion for and knowledge of natural hair care products and practices
Exceptional interpersonal skills with a demonstrated customer-centric mindset
Strong problem-solving abilities with a proactive approach to addressing issues
Excellent verbal and written communication skills in a professional context
Creativity and eagerness to develop sales techniques to increase revenue
Demonstrated ability to multitask and work independently with minimal supervision
Proficiency with basic computer applications and familiarity with social media platforms (WhatsApp, Instagram)
Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills for sales tracking and inventory management
Willingness to learn about ILBA's product line, services, and brand mission
Alignment with ILBA's Christian values and commitment to respectful communication
Preferred Qualifications
Previous experience (6+ months) in customer service, sales, or retail roles
Basic knowledge of salon operations or beauty industry practices
Experience with sales reporting, invoicing, or basic financial record-keeping
Fluency in both English and Kinyarwanda
Ownership of a smartphone capable of capturing high-quality images for marketing purposes
Experience using CRM systems or customer management software
