Role Purpose

The Commercial Vehicle Sales Director is responsible for leading and driving the overall sales performance of the commercial vehicles business in Rwanda, including trucks, pickups, and logistics vehicles. The role focuses on developing and executing strategic sales plans, expanding dealer and customer networks, and securing key fleet and project-based orders from sectors such as logistics, construction, and government. The Director will build, lead, and mentor a high-performing sales team, oversee major negotiations and order fulfillment processes, and ensure strong customer relationship management to support repeat business and market share growth. Through continuous market analysis, performance tracking, and collaboration with finance and after-sales teams, the role aims to achieve sustainable revenue growth, enhance customer satisfaction, and strengthen the company’s competitive position in the commercial vehicle market.

Key Responsibilities

Sales Target Management

  • Develop annual, quarterly, and monthly sales plans for commercial vehicles and ensure achievement of sales targets.
  • Responsible for sales of commercial vehicle products such as trucks, light trucks, pickups, and logistics vehicles.

Channel and Customer Development

  • Develop and maintain key customers, including logistics companies, construction companies, government projects, and fleet operators.
  • Establish and maintain dealer networks and channel partners.

Sales Team Management 

  • Recruit, train, and manage the sales team.
  • Guide and supervise sales staff in customer development, follow-up, and closing deals.

Market Analysis and Strategy

  • Analyze the commercial vehicle market trends and competitor brands in Rwanda and East Africa.
  • Develop effective sales strategies and pricing strategies.

Key Account Negotiation and Order Management

  • Participate in negotiations for major projects and key accounts.
  • Oversee contract signing, order management, vehicle delivery, and coordination of financing solutions.

Sales Reporting and Data Analysis

  • Analyze sales performance, inventory, and market feedback on a regular basis.
  • Provide sales reports and forecasts to company management.

Customer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term relationships with customers to improve customer satisfaction and repeat purchases.
  • Coordinate with the after-sales service team to ensure a high level of customer experience.

Qualifications

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree or above.
  • A major in Marketing, Business Administration, Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or related fields is preferred.

Work Experience

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in automotive or commercial vehicle sales.
  • At least 2 years of sales team management experience.
  • Experience in truck, light truck, construction vehicle, or fleet sales is preferred.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of automotive sales processes and market dynamics.
  • Excellent business negotiation and customer development skills.
  • Strong leadership and sales target management abilities.
  • Familiarity with CRM or sales management systems.

Language Requirements

  • Fluent in English (required).
  • Chinese or French language skills are an advantage.

Other Requirements

  • Experience in government projects or fleet sales is preferred.
  • Familiarity with the Rwanda or East African market is an advantage.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
