BAG is Africa's largest job simulation platform, dedicated to addressing youth unemployment through innovative solutions. Position Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Learning Designer to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in designing and developing our learning methodology, creating effective assessments, and shaping career pathways for job seekers and employees. This role involves research, instructional design, the development of job simulations, training material creation, and the facilitation of learning resources.

Key Responsibilities

Learning Methodology Design:

  • Develop and implement innovative learning methodologies tailored to various audiences.

  • Ensure the learning methodologies align with BAG’s mission and objectives.

Research and Design:

  • Conduct research to identify the latest trends and best practices in learning and development.

  • Design effective assessments to evaluate learner progress and skill acquisition.

  • Create learning and career pathways for different job roles and industries.

Job Simulations:

  • Develop realistic and engaging job simulations to provide hands-on experience for learners.

  • Collaborate with industry experts to ensure simulations reflect real-world scenarios.

Training Material Development:

  • Design and produce high-quality training materials, including e-learning modules, instructional videos, and manuals.

  • Ensure all materials are accessible, engaging, and aligned with learning objectives.

Facilitation and Delivery:

  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions for learners and corporate clients.

  • Provide support and guidance to learners throughout their training journey.

Collaboration and Leadership:

  • Work closely with subject matter experts, instructional designers, and other stakeholders to ensure the effectiveness of learning solutions.

  • Lead and mentor a small team of instructional designers and developers.

Evaluation and Improvement:

  • Continuously evaluate the effectiveness of learning programs and make necessary improvements.

  • Collect and analyse data to measure learner engagement and outcomes.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in education, Instructional Design, Learning Sciences, or significant experience in related field.

Experience: At least 3-5 years of experience in instructional design, curriculum development, or a related role. Experience in designing job simulations and/or assessments is a plus.

Skills

  • Strong understanding of adult learning principles and instructional design methodologies.

  • Proficiency in e-learning authoring tools (e.g., Articulate, Captivate) and Learning Management Systems (LMS) is a plus

  • Proficiency in AI tools such as Perplexity, ChatGPT, Claude and other tools such as Notion, Canva, Figma, Pitch. This is preferred.

  • Excellent research, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong project management skills with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment and lead a team.

  • Familiarity with the latest trends and technologies in learning and development.
